For obvious reasons, being both child free yourselves and not having to stop your conversation over breakfast for someone else’s screaming child makes for a more relaxing stay.

Our guests have access to a local award winning spa, offering a small hydrotherapy pool, sauna, steam room, aromatherapy light shower and gymnasium for £25 per person. They also offer a list of treatments like massage with a 25% discount especially for our guests, which also then gives complimentary use of the spa facilities.
Mood lighting –
Add to the romantic feel of your bedroom by switching the main lights off and having the mood lighting on instead. And you don’t even have to stand up – just ask Alexa on the Amazon Echo in your room to do it for you. She’ll even change the colour too!
Places to eat in Torquay –
You’ll be spoilt for choice when deciding on a romantic restaurant to eat in locally. You could splash out on The Elephant – our local Michelin starred restaurant, or maybe the intimate atmosphere of the Orange Tree or Old Vienna would be better? Perhaps eating outside Bistro Pierre on the balcony overlooking the sea, or would it be more romantic to share fish and chips on the beach? To make it simple, we have created a list of our favourite places to eat.
Netflix and Smart TVs –
When you have busy lives, work away a lot, or possibly don’t live together yet, then it’s just nice to spend some quality time together. An evening in watching a movie with a drink and some snacks from our honesty bar might be just the thing. Each bedroom has a large Smart TV with catch up, as well as Netflix and Prime Movies so you’re sure to find plenty to watch. Why not search the Romantic film section?
Make it Special –
We have a “Make it Special” page on our website where you can choose additional items to make your stay even more special and romantic. Why not order a bouquet of flowers from our local florist? If it’s bubbles you’re thinking of, we have both Verve Clicquot and Prosecco in full or half bottles. There’s also bottles of wine or delicious chocolate truffles made by hand at the nearby Cockington Chocolates.
Super-king size beds –
Four out of six of our rooms have super-king size beds. Everyone raves about how comfy the mattresses are, and with the Fine Bedding Company supplying our toppers, duvets and pillows, it makes for an excellent night’s sleep leaving you refreshed the next morning. And you’ll be able to wake up the next morning with either a cup of tea with fresh milk from the fridge in your room or have a coffee from the Nespresso.
Romantic Walks –
Whether it’s just the walk into the harbour via the Italianate Gardens and Rock Walk (and Cocos cocktail bar!), a stroll along the promenade overlooking the sea with an ice cream or more energetic walk along the South West Coastal Path, there’s plenty of choice for a romantic walk.
Secluded beaches –
With over twenty miles of award winning coastline to choose from you’ll easily find a romantic spot to spend a few hours. You could walk down to one of the many hidden coves where you pretty much have the beach to yourselves, or walk along the sandy beaches of Goodrington or Paignton. Why not hire a deckchair and sunbathe together all day? If you're feeling energetic you could hire a pedalo.
Winter Warmer –
Sometimes it’s just nice to be wrapped up warm and be with the person you love. If you’re not visiting during the warmer months, you can always sit in front of our fire in the Drawing Room reading a book or the newspaper with a drink from the honesty bar. Or why not go to the cinema? We have one in Torquay. You could visit a museum, have afternoon tea at one of our recommendations or see a show at the theatre.
