Babymoon Ideas

Babymoon

I have to admit, the only parenthood experience I have is being daddy to our darling miniature Schnauzer Patsy so I’d never come across the term “Babymoon” until recently.

It seems it’s a thing – and a big thing too. So much so, that in the last four days we've had three pregnant ladies check in with their dads to be!

So apparently, a babymoon isn’t an even shorter version of the minimoon (when a couple just take a few days away in this country immediately after getting married with a view to going on a long-haul full honeymoon at a later stage). It’s actually a last ditch attempt at a romantic holiday, before you spend the next few years knee high in dirty nappies and sleepless nights.

Apparently, the ideal time for a trip away is during the second trimester. You could leave it a little later if travelling to us as we do have Torbay Hospital only a mile down the road if baby decides it’s coming early.

Thinking about it, I realised that The 25 is an ideal place for a babymoon.

Firstly, you’re going to want to choose somewhere like us that’s adults only – there’s no point having a last child-free break if you’ve got to put up with other people’s kids running round and screaming.

We’re a great place to take it easy. You’ve got Netflix and Prime Video on your Smart TV so you can relax watching a film – and each room has a comfy seat or sofa. We also supply Readly on the in-room iPad so you’ve got a choice of thousands of magazines to read, and there’s plenty of board games in the Drawing Room too so you don’t even have to go far if you don’t want (apart from for food).

Location is important to consider for a babymoon, and a UK holiday is advised so you’re not hanging round airports for hours or spending a long time on a plane. Torbay is easy to get to and connected to the M5 by A-roads. Why spend hours in the car when you don’t have to? We’re also really easy to get to by train and there’s a direct Paddington train too.

Lots of tourist attractions are close by so there’s very little travelling distance to most things to do and several are in walking distance. Why not indulge in some of the things that will be more difficult to do once you’ve got a little one in tow? We’ve got four local theatres so you could go and watch a play or a show. What about visiting our local Michelin starred restaurant or one of our other recommended places to eat? Afterwards, you could visit our local cocktail bar called Soho. Don’t worry – they also have a good selection of mocktails as well.

Why not become a VIP Guest via our website (www.the25.uk/vip)?

This then entitles you to a later check out so you can take it easy on your last morning with us, along with exclusive access to a local spa.

They offer a relaxing face and body ritual especially designed for mums to be (or moms as we say in the Midlands!). This is what they say about the treatment:

“After a soothing “Discovery of the Sea” sensory experience, a deeply nourishing and hydrating body balm is applied on specific areas which are prone to stretch marks to help soothe and soften. While this is left to work, you will be treated to a hydrating facial and a draining and relaxing lower leg and foot massage. Finally, the remaining body balm is gently massaged in leaving your skin feeling silky smooth and completely moisturised."

We’ve negotiated a very special 25% off all treatments, and Dad can have a treatment too or pay £25 for access to the spa facilities only.

Are you pregnant and fancy a Babymoon at The 25?

If so, mention “Babymoon” in the Comments box when you book via our own website and we’ll pop a box of our locally made Cockington chocolates in your room for you as an extra treat – after all – you’re eating for two now! (can’t be used in conjunction with other offers, usual Offer T&Cs apply).

We hope to see you soon!
