English Riviera Wheel

 

Open April - October sent to Hyde Park over winter.  Soaring 60m high over the beautiful harbour, the wheel is situated within the famous Pavillion gardens, enjoying amazing views.  Discount for on line bookings.  Interesting commentary.

Pleasure Cruises

 

Sailing from Princess Pier, take various trips to Brixham, Dartmouth, Greenway House or Paignton from as little as a pound.  "Sea-fari" & Agatha Christie Experience day trips also available.

The water can be quite choppy on some trips - ask before you board if you need to.

Cockington Court Craft Centre

 

Nestled within 460 acres of award-winning country park, the Manor House & studios house a number of skilled crafts people.  Watch them work & by their goods.  (20 min walk - ask us for circular walk directions).

Have a cream tea here & visit the thatched village too.

Paignton Zoo

 

See them all at the largest zoo in the South West - giraffes, lions, gorillas, cheetahs & thrilling crocodiles, plus cheeky meerkats, colourful snakes & amazing monkeys.  Set in beautiful countryside & well kept gardens.

Allow most of the day & lots of walking - it's bigger than you'd expect.  Well worth a visit.

Babbacombe Cliff Railway

 

Built in 1926, the Babbacombe Cliff Railway has shuttled hundreds of thousands of holiday makers to & from Oddicombe Beach.  Lovely beach with Cafe.  You can take the steep walk down instead and take the railway back.

Have a drink or lunch at the Cary Arms just along the coastal path.

Round Robin

 

Leave the car at home & use a combination of steam trains, boats & buses to explore the area to do as much or as little as you like.  A great way to see the area.

Kents Cavern

 

One of Europe's top ten most important prehistoric caves & visitor centre for the English Riviera Global Geopark.  Ghost walks, woodland trails, coastal walks, shop & restaurant also available.

If all else fails - go shopping.  There's markets, town shopping, quirky places like Totnes, huge malls like Trago Mills & cities like Exeter.  Something to please everyone.
